Mukteshwar & Saat- Tal

Mukteshwar gets its name from a 350-year-old temple toShiva, known asMukteshwar Dham, situated atop a high ridge in a remote corner of theKumaonMountainsand is surrounded by fruit orchards and thick coniferous forests. Situated at an altitude of 7,500 ft above sea level, Mukteshwar is most famous for its wonderful 180 degrees view of the snow-cappedHimalayas and 16 mile x 14 mile wide Deodar forest, pristine 22 snow-peaks view, adventure of living among wildlife like tigers and bears, best seen in autumn and spring.

The quiet hamlet is also associated with a legend of Shiva who granted immortality ormuktito a demon that he killed at this spot. Saat – Tal gets its name from the seven lakes that are interconnected. Our campsite is located on a hill top above the lake offering spectacular view of the Himalayas and the lake.

Day Programme
Depart for Delhi by 12953 August Kranti Rajdhani Exp (Ex. Mumbai central 05:40 pm.) Overnight journey by train.
Arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin Station by 10:55 am. After freshening up at the station and lunch the group shall depart for half a day site seeing to the places of interest around Delhi. Later we shall proceed for Kathgodam by 5013 Ranikhet Express (Dep. 10:00 pm. Ex. Delhi S. Rohilla). Overnight journey by train.
Arrive at Kathgodam at 05.20 am. Upon arrival proceed to the camp at Mukteshwar (altitude: 7500ft) by reserved coach. Arrive at the campsite by 08.30 am. A short briefing on the purpose of the camp, code of conduct, group segregation and tent allotment. After breakfast we shall take the group for a familiarization trek on a forested trail. Return to campsite for lunch. After lunch students shall proceed for Adventure Session 01 that includes an adventure activity called Flying fox near the campsite. Return to campsite for tea. Theory Session 01. Evening session on rope knots and talks on mountain manners. Overnight camping at Mukteshwar.
Wake up call at 06.00 am followed by light exercise. After breakfast students shall proceed for Adventure Session 02 that includes activities like Rock-climbing, Rappelling, Jumaring. Lunch shall be provided at the activity site. Return to campsite on foot. Evening at leisure for rest, games.Dinner would be served at 8:00 pm. Creativity Session 01. After dinner we shall conduct a Theatre workshop around camp fire. Overnight camping at Mukteshwar.
Adventure Session 03 . After breakfast the group shall proceed for trek to Maheshkhan. ( 4 hours ). Arrive at Maheshkhan by afternoon. The group shall set up the camp. After rest and refreshment the group shall be given leisure time for exploring the surrounding area. Overnight camping at Makeshkhan.
Adventure Session 04 . After breakfast students shall proceed for trek to Saat- Tal ( 4 hours ). Upon arrival at Saat- Tal lake the group shall participate in Kayaking on the lake & bouldering. After lunch at the activity site proceed for the campsite. After tea and snacks students shall be given free time for leisure & preparation for group entertainment activities. Overnight camping at Saat-tal.
Wake up call at 06.00 am. After camp clean up and breakfast we shall conduct a short session on evaluation and assessment of the camp. Later the group shall depart for the beautiful hill resort of Nainital (Approx 3 hour drive). Arrive at Nainital by noon. Upon arrival the group shall be given an experience of boating on Naini Lake followed by leisure time at the famous Nainital Mall for shopping and individual activities. We shall proceed for Kathgodam by 5.30 pm by bus. Arrive at Kathgodam by 7.30 pm. Packed dinner shall be provided this day. Upon arrival we shall depart for Delhi by 15014 Ranikhet Express. (Dep. 08.40 pm.) Overnight journey by train.
Arrive at Delhi at 4:00 am. Upon arrival the group shall be transferred to a guest house for freshening up. Morning at leisure. After breakfast and refreshment we shall take the group for visit to Janpath and Palika Bazar. We shall arrive at New Delhi station at 3.45 p.m. Upon arrival the group shall depart for Mumbai by 12952 Rajdhani Express. (Dep. 4:30 am). Overnight journey by train.
Arrive at Mumbai Central by 8.35 am. Himalayan adventure camp ends.
