Are you wondering how suitable it is to travel alone with a group of strangers? Then relax. You are in safe hands. At Explorers, we have the right blend of likeminded people just waiting to meet. Our groups are a homogenous mix of people from different walks of life looking for travelling with a purpose.
We are quite selective about the kind of people who come on our trips, taking care to see that the composition is a healthy but compatible mix. Each journey we undertake begins with a briefing session on the world we are about to enter - complete with a primer on respecting the environment, right down to a peek into the local traditions and customs.
For the past 20 years, we have been conducting trips for individuals to various destinations in India without any untoward incident. Our coordinators ensure that the group is bonded even before they reach the destination. They also keep a sharp eye for misconduct, if any, and take steps to prevent it.
From Our Single Travellers:
This was my first trip on my own with The Explorers and I was quite nervous. But I soon felt so much at home and was never lost for good company. I found every experience memorable from the most basic to the most luxurious ones. This trip has a special place in my memory and I can hardly wait for my next one.

Hi, this is Shaila. First time with an unknown group and it turned out to be a great experience. I am happy with all the arrangements and facilities. Aloke ji is a very supportive person and is able to give attention to every person. Love you all.

Hi, this was my first trip with The Explorers and also my first trekking experience. I wanted to do something exciting this summer and this trip proved to be that..and much more. I have had the best time of my life, I will never forget this trip and the friends I made.

I enjoyed every moment on the trek, starting from the walks, the luggage, the tents, the funny ghost stories and even funnier pranks..everything had a beautiful feeling. The group will now be remembered as friends and not just strangers getting together for an outing. In short, it was a very good experience for me. I enjoyed every moment of it.
- Abha Singh, Pachmarhi trek, 1999.
This has been one of my most memorable experiences. It was my first real ‘roughing it out’ experience and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Of course, it wouldn’t have been half as fun without the fabulous people esp the organizers. I never thought I could get so close to complete strangers in just 6 days. The food was excellent so was the planning and organizing.
All in all, it was a fabulous, fun filled experience and I can’t wait for the reunion on Friday.
- Taima Arsiwala, Pachmarhi trek, 1999.
Rafting was a thrilling experience. Our team of 11 was great. There was never a moment of uneasiness or boredom despite our age differences. It was wonderful to know that we all happened to be like- minded people. Hope we can repeat the performance.
- Dhun Cooper, Rishikesh, 1999.
Amazing trip, finally met some people who want to do the same things as me. I hope thins bonding lasts and we meet more often.

Well, well well! I really don’t have much to say. All and all, I’d say your trip was fun especially for a single independent person travelling alone from Mumbai to a new land with new people. A very hospitable group of coordinators. Thanks so much for making me feel comfortable. All the best.
- Puja Mehta, Bhutan, May 2000.
This is the first time I ever went out on India. You made me feel very much at home. I made the greatest friends ever on the tour. The coordinators were good fun. I have never enjoyed so much in my life. I would like to join The Explorers again.

- Garima Gandhi, Bhutan, May 2000
At first apprehensive, when I saw the crowd but after meeting them, they made me feel at ease, & young again. It was a great feeling in God’s own country especially the backwaters, Ponmudi & varkala. The team leaders were great and took great care. On the whole, I feel young again and energetic.
- Lalita, Kerala, 2001
