Meghalaya & Kaziranga National Park

 

A collage of exotic fauna, colorful customs and delicate handicrafts await you at this northeastern tip of India. The wonder of Meghalaya lies in its scenic beauty. Amidst colorful and elaborate religious practices, this place is ideal for nature lovers. And for those who might want to rough it out, there is a short hike to Shillong Peak.

Here’s also your chance to also come face to face with some of the rare animal species in t...he jungles of Assam while visiting Kaziranga National Park. The Kaziranga National Park is one of the premier wild life parks of India, famous for the one horned Rhino, Tigers, Leopards and a large number of other animals, reptiles and birds.

Day Programme
Depart for Howrah by 2859 Gitanjali Express (Dep. 7.00 am ex- Mumbai CST). Overnight travel by train.
Arrive at Howrah by 12.30 pm. After lunch depart for Guwahati by 2345 Saraighat Express (Dep. 3.50 pm). Overnight travel by train.
Arrive at Guwahati by 9.30 am. Upon arrival the group shall depart for Kaziranga National Park (Approx, 4 hours). Arrive at Kaziranga by 02.00 pm. Kaziranga is one of the premier wild life parks of India, famous for the one horned Rhino, Tigers, leopards and a large number of other animals, reptiles and birds. Upon arrival the group shall be transferred to a Jungle Camp / Lodge. After lunch and rest we shall take the group for evening safari inside the national park. Overnight stay at Kaziranga. 
Early morning safari inside the national park. After early lunch we shall depart for Shillong by road (Approx. 9 hours). Arrive at Shillong , the capital of Meghalaya by 09.30 pm. Transfer to hotel. Situated at an altitude of about 5000 ft above sea level, Shillong is one of the most spectacular hill resorts of India. There several places of cultural significance and natural beauty in and around Shillong. Due to its natural beauty Shillong is also referred to as Scotland of the East.Overnight stay at Shillong.
After breakfast we shall take the group for visit to places of interest in and around Shillong that include the Hydari Park, Elephant Falls, Museum and the mall. Overnight stay at Shillong.
Half a day excursion to Cherrapunji and Mawsynram. Cherrapunji is the rainiest part of the world! You would also get a close look at the life style of the Khasi tribes in this area. Return to Shillong by late afternoon. Overnight stay at Shillong.
Morning at leisure for individual activities, packing. Depart for Guwahati by 09.30 am. Arrive at Guwahati by noon.Upon arrival the group shall depart for for Howrah by 2346 Saraighat Express (Dep. 12.45 pm). Overnight travel by train.
Arrive at Howrah by 5.10 am. After rest and refreshment depart for Mumbai by 2860 Gitanjali Express (Dep. 1.50 pm). Overnight travel by train.
