THAILAND

This is no surprise as the Royal Kingdom of Thailand has much to offer to students by way of history, culture, lively arts, beautiful beaches, wilderness as well as adventure. DAY

   PROGRAMME

01

Depart for Bangkok by air in the evening.

02

Arrive at Bangkok early morning. Transfer to hotel. Morning at leisure. Talk on culture and history of Thailand. After lunch students shall visit the Flowers market and walk up to the top of Golden Mountain Temple for panoramic view of Bangkok city followed by a visit to Gems Factory. O/N hotel stay at Bangkok.

03

After breakfast depart for Kanchanaburi by road ( 3 hours ). Transfer to hotel. Visit War Cemetry, Bridge on River Kwai. In the afternoon students shall experience Bamboo Rafting on River Kwai . O/N hotel stay at Kanchanaburi.

04

Jungle walk to waterfall in the morning. After lunch proceed for Bangkok by road. Depart for Chiang Mai by train 7.20 pm. O/N travel by train.

Arrive at Chian Mai early morning. Transfer to hotel. After rest and refreshment proceed for Tra Pae Gate for environmental assessment. Afternoon activities would include visit to Doi Suthep Temple sketching and group activities. In the evening Northern Thai Cultural Dance (Kantoke) shall be organized. O/N hotel stay at Chaing Mai.

After breakfast visit Elephant Nature Park. Video presentation and Elephant Bathing. After lunch visit Orchid Butterfly Farm. In the evening students shall be taken for a visit to Chiang Mai night Bazar. O/N hotel stay at Chiang Mai.

07

After breakfast depart for Doi Pu Muan by road. (2 hours). Visit village school for interactive session with students. The group shall be engaged in Tent Pitching and Orienteering. Evening BBQ, games and campfire activities. O/N camping at village school.

08

After breakfast proceed for Jungle Walk. Meet tribes of Lahu village. Return to camp by afternoon. Depart in the evening for Bangkok by train 9.00 pm. O/N travel by train.

09

Arrive at Bankok. Transfer to hotel. After lunch visit Floating market followed by leisure time for shopping. O/N hotel stay at Bangkok.

10

Full day excursion to Pattaya. Visit the beach and Sri Racha Tiger Zoo. Return to Bangkok by evening. Depart for Mumbai by evening flight.

11

Arrive at Mumbai early morning. Study tour to Thailand ends.

BHUTAN

ThailandBhutan, The land of peaceful thunder dragon is known to the world by several names such as 'the last Shangri - la' or 'the last palace on the top of the world'. Though the original name is 'Bootan' the natives prefer to call their country 'Druk Yul' or the land of peaceful Thunder Dragon. An unspoiled country with majestic mountains nestled in the lap of Himalayas, Bhutan offer's spectacular mountain views, immense scenic beauty a unique culture and architectural style. It is land full of warm hearted and friendly people.
Formerly known as the forbidden Kingdom, Bhutan or the land of the peaceful dragon has only recently opened its door to visitors. The beauty of Bhutan is as remarkable as it is grand and it is no wonder that this country is referred to as ‘Asia’s Switzerland’.
There is a lot in store for students in this magnificent kingdom of the ‘Thunder Dragon’

Depart for Kolkata by train. O/N travel by train.

Arrive at Kolkata by afternoon and proceed for New Jalpaiguri by train. O/N travel by train.

Arrive at New Jalpaiguri early morning and proceed for Phuntsholing (Bhutan) by road (4 hours). Transfer to hotel. Talk / lecture on history and culture of Bhutan. Walk around tour of Phuntsholing. O/N hotel stay at Phuntsholing.

04

Depart in the morning for Thimphu by road (Approx. 7 hours).Transfer to hotel. Evening at leisure. Talk on Buddhism. O/N hotel stay at Thimphu.

05

Visit the Pagoda, Handicraft center, Dzong, BBS and Takin sanctuary. Visit to a school in the afternoon for interactive session with students. Visit to paper making centre in the evening. O/N hotel stay at Thimphu.

06

Visit to Cherry Monastery (short trek). After lunch proceed for Paro by road (2 hours). Visit The National Museum and The Mall. Sketching / drawing session in the evening. O/N hotel stay at Paro.

07

Visit Drugyel Dzong & Drugyel Village. Interactive session with the villagers. Jungle cooking in nearby wilderness. O/N hotel stay at Paro.

08

A short trek to Taktsang Monastery (5 hours). Afternoon at leisure. Group entertainment activities in the evening. O/N hotel stay at Paro.

09

Depart for New Jalpaiguri early morning by road (10 hours). Upon arrival proceed for Kolkata by train. O/N travel by train.

10

Arrive at Kolkata in the morning and depart for Mumbai by train. O/N travel by train.

11

Arrive at Mumbai in the night. Study tour ends.

LAKSHADWEEP ISLANDS

The Lakshadweep Islands are probably some of the most beautiful in the world. Almost completely untouched by tourism and modernity, Lakshadweep Islands have a remote pristine splendor. Apart from engaging students in elementary water sports we shall get to take a close look at the culture and way of life of the people of Lakshadweep.

The waters around the islands are relatively shallow and placid due to coral barriers around them which make them very safe for swimming and water sports.

   PROGRAMME

01

Depart for Ernakulam (Cochin) by train. O/N travel by train.


02

Arrive at Ernakulam by afternoon. In the evening visit the Synagogue, Chinese Fishing Nets and Bolghatty Palace. Kathakali dance show in the evening. O/N hotel stay at Cochin.

03

Talk / lecture on history and culture of Lakshadweep Islands. Depart for Lakshadweep Islands by ship by 11.00 am. O/N stay on ship.

04

Arrive at Kavaratti, which is also the head–quarter of Lakshadweep Islands. Visit Kavaratti Island. Visit Ujra Mosque, Marine Aquarium followed by Glass Bottom Boat Ride. Students shall be given an experience of introductory Scuba Diving. Return to ship by evening. O/N stay on ship.

05

Arrive at Minicoy. Visit Minicoy Island. Witness traditional dance followed by a visit to the Light House and Tuna Canning Factory. Leisure time on beach. Return to the ship by evening. O/N stay on ship.

06

Arrive at Kalpeni. Visit Kalpeni Island. Students shall be taken for a visit to the Baniyan Factory. They shall also get to do snorkeling. Return to the ship by evening. O/N stay on ship.

07

Arrive at Cochin by 10.00 am. Upon arrival depart for Mumbai by train. O/N travel by train.

08

Arrive at Mumbai by evening. Study tour to Lakshadweep Islands ends.
