Bhutan Trek
(Druk Path Trek)
On the trail of the Thunder Dragon

The Druk Path trek is a moderately demanding trek. In clear weather, the trail offers some of the most breathtaking views of the Himalayan range. The Druk Path (trek) goes as high as 13,000 ft past fresh water lakes abundant with fish (trout) and small hamlets. Flowering rhododendron and high altitude wild flowers make this trek truly spectacular during spring and summer.

 

 

 

 

DAY

   PROGRAMME

01

Depart for Kolkata by train. O/N travel by train.

02

Arrive at Howrah, depart for New Jalpaiguri. O/N travel by train. ( Alternatively you can arrive at Kolkata this day by air )


03

Arrive at New Jalpaiguri in the morning; depart for Phuntsholing by road (4 hrs). Explore Phuntsholing, a trading town of Bhutan across the border. O/N hotel stay at Phuntsholing.

04

Visits to Drugyel Dzong, National Museum and the local market. O/N hotel stay at Paro.

05

Trek day 01
Paro to Jele Dzong. (8 kms/4 hrs).O/N camping at Jele Dzong. (Altitude: 3,350 m).

06

Trek day 02
Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha. (10 kms/4 hrs). O/N camping at Jangchulakha. (Altitude: 3,700 m)

07

Trek day 03
Jangchulakha to Jimilangtso. (11 kms/5 hrs). O/N camping near the lake. (Altitude : 3,800 m)

08

Trek day 04
Jimilangtso to Simkota Tso. (10 kms/5 hrs). O/N camping at Simkota Tso. (Altitude : 3,750 m)

09

Trek day 05
Simkota Tso to Phajoding. (10 kms/4 hrs). O/N camping at Phajoding. (Altitude: 3,250 m)

10

Trek day 06
Phajoding to Thimphu. (5 kms/3 hrs). O/N hotel stay at Thimphu. (Altitude : 2,800 m)

11

Visit the Chorten, handicraft centre, BBS, The Dzong and the Mall. O/N hotel stay at Thimphu.

12

Depart for New Jalpaiguri. And then to Sealdah. O/N travel by train.

13

Arrive at Sealdah. Upon arrival depart for Mumbai / Delhi / Bangalore by train / air. Trekking programme ends.

Arunachal Pradesh Trek
(Bomdila-Sangit Valley-Tawang)

Depart from Guwahati for Bomdila via Tezpur by road (9 hours). O/N hotel stay at Bomdila.

Trek day 01
Depart for Thembang by road (1 hour). Trek from Thembang to Semnak (7 km/4 hrs). O/N camping at Semnak (Altitude: 1,995 m).

06

Trek day 02
Semnak to Langam (11 km/7 hrs). O/N camping at Langam (Altitude: 2,645 m).

07

Trek day 03
Langam to Namshu. (11 km/6 hrs).O/N camping at Namshu (Altitude: 2,100 m).

08

Trek day 04
Namshu to Sangti Valley. (6 km/4 hrs). Enroute visit Khalebok village. O/N camping at Sangti.
(Altitude: 2,215 m).

09

Depart for Tawang by road. (4 hours). Day at leisure at Tawang. O/N hotel stay at Tawang.

10

Visits to the Pankang Teng (P.T. Tso), Bumla (India-China Border), Tawang Monastery, Gyangong Ani Gompa and Tawang War memorial. O/N hotel stay at Tawang.

11

Depart for Bhalukpong by road (8 hours) via Bomdila and Dirang. Day at leisure at Bhalukpong. O/N stay in jungle lodge at Bhalukpong.

12

Depart for Guwahati by road (8 hours). Upon arrival at Delhi depart for Mumbai /
Kolkata / Bangalore by air / train. Trekking programme ends.

    Uttaranchal
   Valley of Flowers & Hemkund Sahib
   A trail to floral paradise…

Nestled in pristine and awesome Garhwal Himalayan range, the valley is at its blooming best between June and September when it is transformed into a carpet of colorful flowers laid against the backdrop of towering snow sculpted peaks. The Valley of Flowers is outstandingly beautiful high-altitude Himalayan valley that has been acknowledged as such by renowned mountaineers and botanists in literature for over a century and in Hindu mythology for much longer.

Depart for Delhi by train. O/N travel by train.

02

Arrive at New Delhi and proceed for Rishikesh via Haridwar by road. Arrive at Rishikesh by late evening. O/N hotel stay at Rishikesh. (Alternatively you can arrive at Delhi this day by air )


03

Proceed by road for Joshimath. (2100 mt) O/N stay in a hotel at Joshimath.

04

Trek day 01
Proceed for Gobindghat by road. Trek from Gobindghat to Ghangharia. (6 kms/6 hrs). O/N stay in trekker’s lodge at Ghangaria. (Altitude: 3,050 mt)

05

05 Trek day 02
Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers. (5 kms/4 hrs). Return to Ghangaria by evening. O/N stay in trekker’s lodge Ghangaria. (Altitude: 3,858 mt)

06

Trek day 03
Trek to Hemkund Sahib. (6kms/6 hrs). O/N stay in trekker’s lodge Ghangaria. (Altitude: 4,329 mt)

07

Trek day 04
Ghangaria to Gobindghat. (Approx 6 hrs). Upon arrival at Gobindghat proceed by road for Badrinath. Visit Badrinath temple. O/N hotel stay at Badrinath.

08

Visit Mana Village. After early lunch depart for Rudraprayag by road. O/N hotel stay at Rudraprayag.

09

Depart for Rishikesh by road. Visit Laxman Jhoola and Ram Jhoola. O/N hotel stay at Rishikesh.

10

Depart for Delhi by train in the morning. Upon arrival at Delhi depart for Mumbai /

Ladakh
(Markha Valley Trek)
Trek through ‘Little Tibet ‘

The Marka Valley is in Ladakh. Markha Valley is one of the most famous treks of Ladakh Region. The trek route passes through beautiful Buddhist monasteries, mountain villages, high altitude pastures of Nimaling and High altitude peak Kangyatse. One would cross two high passes at elevations up to 17,400 ft. The trek offers an opportunity to get introduced with magical and remote pockets of Ladakh.

Depart for Delhi by train. O/N travel by train.

Arrive at Delhi. O/N stay hotel stay at Delhi. (Alternatively you can arrive at Delhi this day by air )

Depart for Leh by air. After rest proceed for a visit to Sankar Gompa, Leh Palace and the Mall. O/N hotel stay at Leh.

04

A short trip to Khardung La (The highest motorable road in the world). O/N stay at a hotel at Leh.

05

Trek day 01
Proceed for Spituk Village by road. Trek from Spituk village to Zing chan (4-6 hrs). O/N camping at Zingchan.

06

Trek day 02
Kandala Base Camp (5 hrs). O/N camping at Kandla Base Camp.

07

Trek day 03
Kanda-la to Skiu. O/N camping at Skiu. (Altitude: 4,850 mt.)

08

Trek day 04
Sara to Hankar Gompa. Enroute explore Markha village and the Monastery of Markha. O/N camping at Hankar.

09

Trek day 05
Hankar to Nimaling O/N camping at Nimaling. (Altitude: 4,700 mt).

10

Trek day 06
Nimaling to Shang Sumdo. O/N at Shang Sumdo.

11

Trek day 07
Shang Sumdo to Hemis. This day the group shall get to see a series of Chortens. O/N camping at Hemis.

12

Visit Hemis Monastery. Thereafter depart for Leh, enroute visit Thiksey and Shey Monasteries. Overnight hotel stay at Leh.

13

Depart for Delhi by air. Upon arrival at Delhi depart for Mumbai / Kolkata / Bangalore by air
/ train. Trekking programme ends.
